Strap in its the worlds best!

As you begin to look at and consider bikes, especially a cruiser, is their anything that really matters besides a Harley?  For those that have ridden one the answer is no.  There have been many attempts from other brands honda, yamaha, suzuki, etc however none have been able to match the mystic of a harley.  What you cannot recreate, regardless of how nice of a bike you market, is the culture and history behind the Harley Davidson.  What you are battling is a way of life, an allegiance to a brand, its not about building a bike its about capturing the hearts and minds of the rider.  For all of its faults and miss steps in the past Harley has done one thing very well, marketing.  When you think of iconic brands Harley has to take its place at the table with every other company that has transcended from being a product to being a part of a lifestyle.  I believe the best comparison is Apple.  Both of these companies have created a following, a crowd of dedicated followers that live, breathe, and eat their brand.

What matters the most?

When is the last time that you past by 100 yamaha bikes or hondas riding in formation on the highway?  When is the last time you saw a crowd gather around a Suzuki cruiser and gush about the beauty of the bike?  Well the answer is that you haven't.  You see nobody cares about these other brands quite like they do a Harley.  When a non-owner sees a Harley that person sees excellence and beauty.  I am convinced that there are two types of riders in the world; those that ride Harleys and those that want to.  Seriously that guy you see cruising in that "alternate" cruiser do you really think he doesn't want to strap onto a v-twin?

Creating your masterpiece..

The true beauty of the Harley is the unique way that you can customize your bike.  The variations and choices that you have are endless.  Though it can grow to be quite a sickness customizing your bike like no other becomes as important as the ride.  I ride an Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide 2005 and can remember thinking maybe every three years or so I will upgrade to a newer ride.  Well that is no longer even a thought.  You see a customized Harley is like a favorite pair of jeans or the best fitting shoes that you have.  No matter the wear you continue to show allegiance to your ride.  You learn overtime that what you are creating is a part of you, your bike is an extension of who you are.  The best thing is that no two customized Harleys are the same.  There are so many offerings, so many ways to create that it is almost impossible to replicate another.

It's The Best!

I challenge you that if you are in the market for a cruiser treat yourself to a Harley.  I know it's a little more expensive than the others but save a few more bucks to ultimately make yourself happy.  When you become a part of the Harley family you will know what I am talking about.  There is a brotherhood, a fraternity if you will to be a part of.  When you pull up to your favorite stop, regardless of what it is, if it's on a Harley the feeling will be much better.  Let me just say that I love all bikers.  We are all a part of a special group.  But for my money if you really want to live the experience of a lifetime get a vtwin, let it roar, and live to ride!

Up until 2007 the above may be true and then for the 2010 models Harley finished killing the engine's most of us were trying to hold out hope for. Appeasing EPA at the expense of their customers has created some unhappy consumers with the 2010 model especially. Leaning the bikes out to EPA specs made the bikes run hot and then for 2010 they stuck the catalytic converters on all the 2010 models. On high heat days they are unbearable to ride and I don't see much extended engine life from the 2010's. That converter is holdong back to much heat on an already hot engine and none of the mods we did up to 09 will help cool it off. They have taken that 70 year old design about as far as you can go without water cooling at least the heads.
